Will Your Friends And Family Make You Fat?
The latest information from the world of diet research reports that your social structure may make you fat. Your family and friends may be the reason why you can't lose weight. But does this mean that you should just give up or drop your friends and family? Of course not!
You are the owner of your body and you can make choices that involve food and activity so that you can “have your cake and eat it too” and still have a great social llife with the people you love. It’s all about small changes and choices that allow you to lose weight when you’re with others. While genetics definitely play a role in how you lose or gain weight, lifestyle choices play a huge role as well. Here’s some tips to help you lose weight safely while having fun within your social sphere.
1. Most social gatherings involve food. If you have a party, barbeque or picnic, people come and expect to eat. However, almost every food as a “lighter” version that still tastes great. Usually it’s all in the sauce or dip. A great example of this is corn (tortilla) chips). There are many types and flavors of chips. Look for chips that are baked and be sure that the chips you eat are not made with lard. Some chips from specialty or health
food stores are whole grain and filled with healthy fiber. The trick to making these
tortilla chips taste great is the salsa. Salsa is very low in calories and here are lots of
varieties and flavors to suit almost any palate. Be sure to watch how many you eat
even if they are baled. A few small handfuls will fill you up and give you lots of
crunchy fun.
2. Beverages can be a calorie buster or blast if you are not careful. Read the labels on the
Beer that you drink. One or two should not “kill” your diet. Wine, especially red
Wine is actually good for you, just limit your consumption. If you drink soda, try the
diet versions. Alcoholic drinks add up when you have sweet drinks that contain sour mix and lots of juice. If you really want a drink of this sort. Just have one. Keep drinking water in addition to anything else you are drinking.
3. Try to make your event or the event you are at about the people and not the food. If you consume yourself with talking and listening to people you may learn something new about people you thought you knew or you may meet someone new and interesting all together. Watch out for conversations that stress you out. Many people eat out of stress or literally “eat their words” and end up consuming food even when they are not hungry. This can make a social gathering a trigger for you to eat even more and you don't want this to happen. Watch out for emotional eating and gather your courage to deal with your emotions as opposed to eating them.
Eating is a cultural and enjoyable event. Don't let the recent research fool you. Use your next social activity as an opportunity to eat well and still stick to your Body Fat Blaster lifestyle choices.
